I love painting murals- I did my first one about four years ago for a daycare center. When I create my illustrations, I am bent over a drafting table, squinting my eyes for hours to get every little detail. I love that, too- but murals let me draw BIG for the first time. It almost felt a little wrong at first, after all we are taught from a young age not to color on the walls! And there I was with a giant blank canvas, and started slowly to draw out my design and color it in.
My most recent mural was a labor of love for my two year old nephew Noah, who loves cars. Here are the before photos:
